As a Senior Data Protection Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the successful deployments to, and continued stability of, Data Protection Services solutions for proper data classification and end-to-end DLP controls on outbound data flows (email and cloud) in support of SOX and other regulatory requirements.
As part of broader data security efforts, the individual in this position will also have opportunities to support Data Protection Services initiatives across a matrix organization that include: testing; performance tuning; supporting/executing proof-of-concepts; and developing metrics.
Data Protection Engineers must be versatile and enthusiastic in addressing new problems as the team continues to push risk management forward.
Job Responsibilities
• Coordinate across teams to troubleshoot and drive technical issue resolution and root cause analysis on production incidents for data classification, DLP/email flow, and DLP functions of CASB/WebProxies..
• Troubleshoot configurations with DLP and data classification toolsets
• Support production changes, including system upgrades and new product installations
• Performance tune and load test systems
• Draft technical documentation and tool configurations
• Handle production tool configurations in support of policy exception requests
• Develop system performance metrics
• Provide adhoc dev/test support to DLP and DLMC teams
• Participate in on-call rotation as second line support for issues outside normal business hours
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in systems engineering or administration or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge in applied enterprise information security technologies including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, network operating systems, identity management, database activity monitoring, encryption, content filtering, and Mainframe security CISSP Certification
• Previous experience in leading complex IT projects
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, data science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong technical knowledge of Cybersecurity tools and integrations with corporate systems, with solid understanding of DLP and/or Data Classification solutions architecture, system policies, rules, etc.
• 3+ years operational experience with Cybersecurity platforms, preferably DLP, email gateway, CASB, and/or data classification, including implementation of upgrades and production troubleshooting of technical issues.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in driving cross-team issue resolution and root cause analysis
• Experience with defining and troubleshooting security policies
• Experience with performance load testing
• Knowledge of data classification solutions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with database platforms and/or server administration - a plus
• Knowledge of laws and regulations that impact SunTrust (e.g., FCRA, GLBA, UDAAP, Dodd-Frank, GDPR) - a plus
• Technical experience with Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) solutions, such as McAfee SkyHigh/mVision
• Technical Experience working with Cybersecurity SaaS solutions, such as ProofPoint
• Experience drafting DLP policy, procedures, and technical documentation
• Experience with a Cyber Security framework such as COBIT or NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF)
• One or more leading Cybersecurity certifications like Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
